Applicants Currently Living Interstate and Abroad 2. Applicants living in other states of Australia or in countries outside Australia are not eligible to make application for assistance, regardless of any future intention to live in Western Australia. |
2.1 Applications or tenancies in different Australian states are not transportable. |
People without Citizenship or Residency Status |
3.1 Example: Migrants with Assurances of Support, Asylum Seekers. 3.2 See RENTAL POLICY – Rent to Income Policy regarding rental payments for people without status and no income, living with a tenant in a Department of Housing property. 3.3 People without residency status are not eligible for a Centrelink benefit and are usually simple to identify because they have no source of income. 3.4 If there is any doubt concerning the status of a migrant, details of the visa stamp in passport can be given to DIMA and they will advise the status of people with such a visa stamp. 3.5 A Class 800 Territorial Asylum Visa provides migrants with permanent residency status, making them eligible for assistance. A Class 785 Temporary Protection Visa allows migrants a temporary stay of up to three years, making them eligible for bond assistance. |
