PUBLIC SUBMISIONS NOW CLOSED

Public submissions for the discussion paper “A Legislative Framework for Community Housing” are now closed. The Department of Housing thanks the many community housing providers, peak bodies, state departments and local governments  for the valuable input provided in the submissions.
 
Every submission is valued and we are committed to working with the community housing sector in developing the necessary legislative changes. 
 
The Department of Housing is currently assessing the submissions and will keep stakeholders informed of any developments in the near future.
  


What is Community Housing?

Community Housing is affordable urban rental accommodation, responsive to client needs, that is managed by not-for- profit organisations or local government. It includes crisis, transitional and long term housing services

The Department of Housing provides four main Community Housing programs:

Housing is provided according to the requirements of individuals with special attention to location, design and support needs.
